The Voluntary Speakers program offers an exclusive opportunity to spend three enriching months in the captivating landscapes of Catalonia, Spain. Through this program you will be able to kick-start your TEFL career by gaining experience as an assistant English teacher while immersing yourself in the authentic tapestry of local culture. You will be able to live like a local, fully experiencing the culture of Catalonia with a host family, making memories that last a lifetime.
- Aid and improve students' English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
- Provide teaching assistance for 20 classroom hours per week
- Gain practical teaching experience that will prepare you for future teaching roles
- Fully immersive cultural and teaching experience
- Volunteers assist the regular classroom teacher so no teaching experience is necessary
- Get involved in lesson planning as well as extracurricular activities
Volunteer Details
Your week unfolds across weekdays, with dedicated classroom time totalling twenty (20) hours. This balanced schedule allows ample room for meticulous lesson planning and the pursuit of any extracurricular activities that resonate with your interests and aspirations. Thorough training and orientation will be provided, enabling you to excel in your role. On top of this, after completing your contract, you will receive a certificate of completion as a testament to your dedication and growth, marking a significant milestone in your journey.
As a Voluntary speaker you will provide assistance in classroom responsibilities which includes lesson planning, teaching classes, engaging with students through English conversations as well as participating in extracurricular activities.
Participants can expect to teach children from very early ages to 18 years old.
Location:
Catalonia, Spain! Placements are among 36 schools, located around the north-eastern part of Spain (Barcelona is the region’s capital).
