A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) teacher refers to a teacher teaching the English language to adults and children whose first language is not English.
TEFL can occur either within the state school system or university, or more privately at a language school, in-company, or with a tutor. TEFL teachers can also teach online.
TEFL teachers can teach learners of all ages, in 1-to-1 classes, small groups or large classes. These learners can be different levels of English, from Beginner to Proficient. Teaching English can mean teaching a variety of classes, such as:
